Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Kissho House on Locust Street is an excellent addition to Philadelphiaβs dining scene and a great choice if youβre looking for high-quality Japanese food in a stylish, upscale setting. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant has a cozy welcoming atmosphere that feels refined without being overly formal. It works equally well for a date night, dinner with friends, or a special occasion. The presentation of the food is beautiful and you can tell there is a lot of attention given to the details. The menu offers a great variety, with everything feeling thoughtfully prepared rather than just being another typical sushi restaurant. The omakase experience is especially appealing for anyone who enjoys trying different flavors and letting the chef guide the meal. The atmosphere is one of the things that really makes Kissho House stand out. It feels modern and intimate while still having enough energy to make the restaurant feel lively. The staff is attentive, friendly, and helps make the entire experience feel comfortable and enjoyable. Cocktails are next level... Overall, Kissho House is definitely worth checking out if youβre in Center City Philadelphia and enjoy Japanese cuisine.

Sadly missed out on the window for the omakase, but now I'll know for next time. This is my first time here, wandering in after booking a reservation on a whim and seeing the amazing and mouth-watering sushi and food. May was our server, and her, along with the other staff who helped us, were so very friendly. May was very knowledgeable of the menu, and very attentive and prompt with service as well. The food we ordered was absolutely fantastic. Everything was so fresh and stunning. Though not a convenient ride, I hope we can visit again one day.

I walked over for dinner at Kissho House on an impulse and I'm so happy that I did! The service is so charming - from the bartender, to the wait staff, everyone was really sweet and helpful. I really appreciated their recommendations as I reviewed the menu The food was amazing! I highly recommend the tasting menu. It was the perfect amount of food and a great way to sample all the menu at Kissho House has to offer. The drinks are delicious as well - I enjoyed the Gemini Effect. Looking forward to coming back!

The yellowtail with Serrano pepper was incredible and the spicy salmon with nori chips was also very good, except there were only like 3 nori chips which wasn't nearly enough for all of the salmon. Also the presentation of that needs work, but most importantly it was not spicy at all which was the only disappointment (still delicious). Our server, Anastasia, was knowledgeable and friendly and attentive. She really went above and beyond for us. We got a roll as well that I can't remember the name of, and it was tasty although too sweet. There was just a little too much sauce on it. The quality of fish was outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth, beautifully prepared and came out very quickly. I WILL be back. I actually can't wait. For the two of us it was about $100 including tip. We had 2 sashimi appetizers and 1 sushi roll, a beer, a glass of white whine, and a bottled water. Overall I was very happy. If I had any recs, it would be to offer a spicy condiment/ sauce / pepper flakes with the dishes advertised as spicy because they really aren't spicy.
